Production Designer

2x4 is seeking a production designer to spearhead the development of an approved concept design into a high quality visual identity system that can be implemented and scaled across mediums. Ideal candidates will have extensive technical experience in creating and designing rigorous brand systems that scale digital, print, experiential, film, and video applications. This is an in-person position; all candidates will be encouraged to be on-site in New York City at least part time.

Responsibilities:

—Work with and report to design director following completion of concept phase to develop approved direction; systematizing design elements to ensure brand coherence across a broad range of usage contexts and internal / external needs
—Manage production design and implementation processes, leading executional efforts with the highest level of creativity and technical acumen—understanding of contemporary design, art, architecture, and culture—to promote new and interesting means for production outputs
—Communicate proactively with team members to promote efficiency and encourage a collaborative working space

Qualifications:

—Highly proficient in design implementation, typesetting and image making across multiple platforms (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma, Powerpoint)
Strong understanding of various production processes and file preparation requirements across print and digital
—Special consideration will be given to candidates who have experience in client-facing roles and demonstrate combined strengths in creating design systems and various production techniques
—Experience with commercial and corporate brand systems is also a plus
Undergraduate and or graduate degree in graphic design or a related field is preferred, however we welcome applicants with unconventional backgrounds
4+ years of professional experience in relevant field
