About Time:
Fashion and Duration

“About Time: Fashion and Duration,” the 2020 spring exhibition by The Costume Institute at The Metropolitan Museum of Art celebrates the museum’s 150th anniversary by presenting a “disruptive timeline” of fashion history. The exhibition, which will be on view at The Met from May 7 through September 7, 2020, was launched at a press event at the Musée d’Orsay in Paris on February 27, 2020.

2x4 worked closely with The Costume Institute team to develop an immersive animation experience to introduce the exhibition theme. The animation draws inspiration directly from the exhibition, presenting a chronology of object pairs to compare and contrast sartorial influence through time.
