Dadu Children’s Museum of Qatar will provide engaging, immersive experiences to encourage learning through play. Slated to open in 2024 in a landmark building designed by UNStudio, Dadu already maintains a robust presence in Qatar, leading the region in discovery-oriented programming.
We collaborated closely with leadership and core staff on the development of brand strategy, naming, and visual identity for the museum. The name “Dadu” means play and fun in Arabic — it’s a musical word that’s easy for children to pronounce and remember. Its colorful, dynamic visual identity captures this same spirit of play, as well as the word’s other meaning of “mark making,” incorporating both Arabic and Latin letterforms. Bright and engaging, the identity is playful but not childish.
