Future of Music is a special Rolling Stone platform spotlighting the trends, technology, and artists shaping the music of tomorrow. The 2023 issue features dozens of up-and-coming artists across diverse genres, including cover star Bad Bunny, Chloe Bailey, and Remi Wolf, and examines the movements influencing the industry as a whole – culminating in a pop up at SXSW. We designed the visual identity, system, website, and environmental graphics for this year’s issue, inspired by the futuristic sensibility and vibrancy of the creative minds honored, as well as the progression of the modern music landscape. To work in tandem with the project’s focus on the next era of music, our design takes cues from turn-of-the-century retrofuturism and bright color schemes to underscore the rapid digitalization and youthfulness of the current industry.
