We have an immediate opening for a seasoned finance professional to act as our Comptroller & HR Manager. This role has expansive responsibilities across all back office operations, with primary oversight of studio accounting books and leadership of human resources activities. This position is full-time, onsite in our New York City office.
Responsibilities:
- Manages all accounting activities including cash management, invoicing, expense management, and all general ledger transactions
- Liaises with outside accountants for financial reporting and tax filings
- Serves as primary liaison with 2x4’s PEO to manage payroll and benefits plans
- Manages the company’s 401(k) retirement plan
- Acts as primary contact for all employee onboarding and offboarding as well as any HR issues
- Provides mentorship and oversight to junior admin staff
- Provides CFO and management group with financial reporting and HR support
- Maintains organized records, contracts, and internal documentation
- Acts as primary contact for all suppliers and vendors
- Liaises with the company’s insurance agent to maintain required coverages and manage certificate of insurance requests
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration
- 10+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in several software packages; Strong NetSuite experience required; CPA certification welcome but not required
- Strong facility with relevant software, including Excel and/or other accounting software; some experience with human resources best practices preferred
- Strong written and verbal skills
