2x4 is thrilled to announce the reopening of our satellite studio in Beijing. The new studio will work on both independent projects and in collaboration with the New York headquarters.
The studio officially known as 2x4 Beijing will be directed by creative directors Jing Xin and Celine Fu. Both are graduates of the Masters Program in Design at the Central Academy of Fine Arts and were integral to the establishment of 2x4 in China. The two have worked closely on major 2x4 projects in China including CCTV/TVCC, the Nike 100 exhibition at 798, Prada’s Beijing runway show at the CAFA Museum, the MiuMiu opening in Shanghai, a special chinese-focused traveling exhibition for Tiffany and Co., the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, Beijing Design Week, Urban China, and the Ordos Prize.
“We are so excited to have 2x4 Beijing up and running.” says 2x4 partner Michael Rock, “Jing and Celine have been essential collaborators on all the major projects we have taken on in the far east. That we are entrusting them to lead our first official satellite office is an index of our absolute faith in their potential in the years ahead.”
Located in a converted factory in Chaoyang District, the new office allows 2x4 to expand our reach and provide close collaboration with our global clients as we continue to focus on brand strategy for culture and commercial clients worldwide.
Jing Xin
Principal and Creative Director, 2x4 Beijing
Prior to starting 2x4 Beijing, she worked with 2x4 on CCTV and Nike 100 at the 798 Space and also the at New York office as a designer on projects including Beijing Design Week, Prada, Storm King Art Center, Blik, and American Academy in Rome. Jing holds a B.F.A. and M.A. from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design. She worked on on the identity of the 2008 Beijing Olympics as part of her studies and also worked with Coca Cola on their WE8 project, an artistic collaboration between West and East of eight Chinese designers and eight international musicians.
Celine Fu
Principal and Creative Director, 2x4 Beijing
Before becoming principal, she was project director at the JOYN:VISCOM Beijing office where she supervised exhibitions for leading brands including the Chengdu Biennial, Mercedes-Benz, and major architectural offices. At 2x4, she worked with the Beijing team on large-scale projects including CCTV and Nike 100. After receiving a BFA at Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, Celine taught at Southwestern University’s Design School. She also holds a Master Degree from China Central Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design and worked for the Olympic Games and the National Centre for the Performing Arts while in school.
