Central Station is a vibrant cultural hub within Langyuan Station, the heart of Beijing’s Embassy District Cultural Shopping Circle. Formerly a railway station and textile warehouse, the space has evolved to encompass multiple performance venues, theaters, libraries, and galleries. Since its reopening in 2023, Central Station has hosted a rich variety of cultural and artistic activity including runway shows, exhibitions, plays, musical performances, and literary masterclasses.
2x4 Beijing designed the site’s new identity and environmental signage system, integrating the visual language of train tracks and railway symbols to pay homage to its industrial origins. Our updated design reflects Central Station’s heritage while embracing its transformation into a distinctive urban cultural landmark.
