In April 2024, Miu Miu launched the inaugural edition of the Miu Miu Literary Club, titled Writing Life. Convened in Milan, the two-day event centered on two works — Sibilla Aleramo’s “A Woman” and Alba De Céspedes’s “Forbidden Notebook” — to encourage discourse around and an understanding of history and education, both of which are central to Miu Miu’s identity and to the lives of women today. For Writing Life, panelists and performers from around the world including Jhumpa Lahiri, Sheila Heti and Zing Tsjeng gathered for two days of conversation centered on Aleramo’s and De Céspedes’s works.
In collaboration with longtime partners Miu Miu and Kennedy, 2x4 crafted an identity for the news series evoking iconic literary salons and artist collectives. Taking inspiration from book spines, the identity connects Miu Miu’s core brand to its latest cultural project, bringing into focus significant works of feminist literature. Duplicated across the event, the multiplication of the identity calls to mind book-filled spaces, such as libraries, bookstores, and studies.
