The Slowdown
The constant influx of new media leaves little time for rumination. The Slowdown, a new media company founded by Spencer Bailey and Andrew Zuckerman sought to solve that dilemma with meaningful media oriented around a holistic approach to covering the most relevant current issues.
2x4 partnered with The Slowdown to codify and visualize the mission, vision, and values of this new entity, relative to the landscape of media companies and the surfeit of images and opinions. Our brand strategy envisioned brand qualities that set The Slowdown apart in a crowded media landscape — its commitment to carefully crafted, inspirational stories and its considered approach to how we take in media today. We captured the brand’s unique mission with a distinct logotype that employed literary, yet contemporary, serif letterforms, resulting in a crafted, distinctive, and dynamic mark. The identity was rounded out with brand guidelines and a full brand design system, for both print and digital application.
Time Sensitive, the Slowdown’s first platform, is a podcast that features frank, hour-long interviews with creative thinkers and leaders in business, the arts and more. This podcast will soon be joined by other ventures, including a newsletter, film series, and conference.
