When Attitudes Become Form: Bern 1969/Venice 2013, designed by OMA, superimposed the plan of Harald Szeemann’s unprecedented exhibition first presented at the artist occupied Kunsthalle Bern in 1969 over the Piano Nobele of Ca’Corner della Regina, home of the Fondazione Prada in Venice. We worked closely with curator Germano Celant in collaboration with Fondazione Prada, Thomas Demand, and Rem Koolhaas on identity, branding, and exhibition infographics, and wayfinding that incorporated the history of the exhibition, through superimposed maps and images from the original show. We also designed a 600 page volume that features unpublished photographs from the original exhibition, critical essays, interviews, and an extensive register of works that give insight into the creative process that went into the reconstruction. The exhibition coincided with the 55th Venice Biennale.
