James Turrell’s retrospective at the Guggenheim, his first exhibition in New York since the 1980s, presents an unprecedented site-specific investigation into the perceptions of light, color and space, transforming the iconic rotunda into a dramatic installation in Aten Reign. The catalogue we designed documents the production of this ambitious undertaking and features beautifully reproduced images of the installation. This volume also includes a selection of the artist’s earlier works, as well as essays by curators Carmen Giménez and Nat Trotman, and physicist Arthur Zajonc.
